Watch it grow...26 weeks!

How far along? 26 weeks!
Size of Baby Baker: Just under 2lbs and about 14 inches long.
Total weight gain/loss: Think I am still holding on to about 12.5 total.
Maternity clothes? Love them... but love elastic PJ pants even more! I have already warned my family that I will dress nice for pictures next Thursday, Thanksgiving, but I can't make any promises to when the PJ pants will make an appearance. I hope to at least hold off until AFTER lunch but if I need to wear during, so be it! LOL
Best moment this week: Our couples baby shower Saturday night! So much fun! And organizing all of her goodies with my mom this week while Ted has been gone out of town. I think we are pretty much set for the first 6 months in the clothing department.
Worst Moment:  Failing the 3 hour glucose test last Friday. I now have to go to the diabetic clinic tomorrow to get my diet and what I need to do from here on out. However, mom brought her blood sugar testing kit with her and I have been testing and all my numbers have been great so I don't know what is up. Last time I had the test done and failed, I had to go home and log my numbers for a month and all those numbers were fine too. I think it is that dumb drink or something that you have to drink in the Dr.'s office that makes my numbers crazy, resulting in failing the test. I go back to Dr. Smith Wednesday next week so he can talk to me more about it but I don't really think I have gestational diabetes.
Miss Anything? Nope!
Movement: Umm... yes! She is moving all the time now. It use just to be mostly at night and when I was very still but now she is all over the place all day long! Her favorite activities include jabbing me in my right rib cage and jumping up and down on my bladder!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope... feeling great!
Have you started to show yet?:Belly is growing by the day.
Gender : GIRL! Mary-Miller Dunlap Baker
What is Baby Baker up to?  Her lungs continue to develop and she is taking small breaths of amniotic fluid inside your womb. These small breaths are getting her in shape for her first breath of fresh air.
Her veins are visible through her transparent skin but soon that will change as her skin begins to turn opaque.
The nerve pathways are becoming more and more developed, making her more responsive to sound. She may jump if she is startled by a sudden noise.
In other Baker News....Her closet is becoming full very quickly! Mom has been washing away all week. She also brought down a few of my old things she has had packed away. Including the outfit I came home in the hospital from, my first bathing suit, the outfit I wore to the hospital when I got tubes in my ears. Needless to say, they all look brand new! And we have Feltman Brother dresses and smocked dresses out the wazoo! I think it will be so neat for her to wear clothes that I wore when I was little.

Mary-Miller's 1st Baby Shower!

What an exciting time this weekend was! It is always to humbling to see how generous everyone is during such a special time in your life.

Saturday night we had our first baby shower for Mary-Miller at our dear friend's Meredith and Coe's house. Our hostesses did an amazing job with the decorating, food, gifts. It was far beyond our expectations.

This was a couples shower so there were boys involved. I thought it was important to make sure Ted was involved with all the fun stuff too so this was a perfect way of doing so. Don't worry, the boys hung out outside by the drink area and occassionly stuck their head in to see what Alabama was doing during the game vs. Miss St.

I can't even begin to tell you all the goodies that Miss Priss got but she is one lucky little lady for sure! We are so blessed to have such caring friends in our lives.

Of course we had a cute little red-headed helper! :-)

Watch it grow...25 weeks!

I guess I am going to have to start just wearing my tight shirts for these belly shots, otherwise, you can can't tell much of a difference in them.

How far along? 25 weeks... only 3 weeks to go until 3rd trimester! HOLY MOLY!
Size of Baby Baker: 1.5 lbs and 13 inches long
Total weight gain/loss: Up 5.4 since last Dr. visit four weeks ago so that would be a total of 12.4. Making up from lost time in the beginning I guess!
Maternity clothes? Lovin my maternity pants! Any tighter shirts have to be maternity but loser fitting shirts can be regular ones.
Best moment this week: Ted finally was able to feel her move one night. It seems as every time she puts his hand on my tummy, she stops moving.
Worst Moment:  Well, I have had two "spells" as I will call them. I feel as though I might pass out. I get all weak, my palms start sweating, I end up having to lay down. But after a bit it passes on by. I asked the Dr. about it yesterday at my check up and he just said it was my body adjusting to different pressures, blood flow, etc. And... I failed my glucose test yesterday. My blood sugar was 164 and it needed to be 135 or below. Although, I am really not surprised by this as my blood sugar has always been screwy. I have had to have it tested before and ended up passing out! The numbers never really ever concluded anything either. I am not a diabetic but I might be a touch of hypoglycemic. Who knows. I go tomorrow morning for the 3 hour test. They said a lot of times, you end up testing fine on that one. Just hate having to go through the whole process.
Miss Anything? Nope!
Movement: Oh yeah... she is moving all the time. She literally woke me up Sunday morning. I swear I saw the covers move. I love it!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Besides my two little "spells", no.
Have you started to show yet?: Yep and loving it!

What is Baby Baker up to?  Mary-Miller is measuring about 13 inches long, she weighs approximately 1 1/2 lbs. In the coming weeks, she will continue to grow and mature at a fast rate, gaining some baby fat and filling out his long, lean frame.
As she gains weight, her skin begins to become less wrinkled and he begins to look more and more like a newborn. Also, her skin is finally gaining some color. Her hands are fully developed by this week, fingerprints and all! And at 25 weeks, the structure of the spine is beginning to form.

In other Baker News....Nursery is still coming right along. I need to get a crib mattress and some pillows made  for the twin bed, but that is pretty much it. It is so fun to decorate it all. I will post pictures as soon as it is all together!
We also have our first baby shower this weekend. It is a couples shower here in Tuscaloosa. Looking forward to seeing friends and family. Ted's parents actually came in from Oklahoma. My mom is coming in town to stay awhile and next week she is helping me wash all of MM's things. I know it is a bit early but with the busy holidays coming up and the fact that I am feeling good now, might as well get as much done as while we can. I figure I will be on the tired side as the weeks go on.

Watch it grow... 24 weeks!

Look at sweet little Bella's paws in mommy's hands! She was being a momma's girl this morning when I was taking my pictures!
My bump is starting to look smaller in the close up photos now compared to the whole shot ones, where compared to before, I had to take the close up photos to even see the bump. Funny how things change.

How far along? 24 weeks... wow!  6 months pregnant!
Size of Baby Baker: Ear of corn or about 12 inches long, weighing little over a pound
Total weight gain/loss: Don't know... don't care! :-) I go to the Dr. next week so I will have my "official" weigh in then.
Maternity clothes? Think I am about to have to be in full force with these, even shirts. I wore a shirt yesterday that was just a regular tee but I kept having to pull it down. Then my favorite pair of maternity jeans I had bought a while back, the ones that don't have a panel, just an elastic waist that goes under the belly, are getting a bit snug... . I guess this will be better suited for post-maternity jeans from now on.  Luckily it is just in the waist part that is too tight.. I guess the elastic doesn't stretch out as much as I need it to so I can still wear them, they are just not as comfy as I would like them to be, even though I have undone the button in the elastic part to make them looser. At least they aren't getting too small in other places, like the hips and thighs! :-)
Best moment this week: Getting the nursery all set up! It is coming right along and it is so much fun! I have also started washing some of her things and putting them up.
Worst Moment:  Nothing really but I will have a "moody" day here and there. Just stay out of my way and no one will get hurt!
Miss Anything?Since it has been getting colder this week, I had a little craving for a big glass of red wine and some yummy cheese. At least I can still have the cheese part... as long as it is pasteurizer!
Movement: I think I am starting to notice her routine a bit more. She seems to be a sleeper during the day and a mover at night. She gets the moving at night from her papa. When he wakes up in the morning his side of the bed sheets are completely wadded up! I don't know what he does when he sleeps!
Food cravings: Still my usual, nothing really new.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope
Have you started to show yet?: I think I have a cute little bump going on! :-)

What is Baby Baker up to?
In the coming weeks, MM will continue to grow and mature at a fast rate, gaining about 6 ounces of weight a week. Her brain is growing rapidly and her taste buds are developing. She is pretty lean at 24 weeks, but she'll soon be putting on some "baby fat" to fill out her frame and her wrinkled skin. She has begun to develop white blood cells. These cells are responsible for fighting off disease and infection. Her lungs develop branches this week and her inner ear is completely developed. In fact, she has basic control over all of her senses: hearing, touch, taste, smell and vision!

In other Baker News.... We are gearing up for a huge game this weekend. #1 LSU and #2 Alabama are playing here. The town is already a little on the nuts side. I am also going with mom, Callie and MG to Disney on Ice tomorrow and then to Christmas Village at the BJCC which I am very much looking forward to.
Received and email yesterday saying the crib has been shipped along with the chandelier that I ordered from Pottery Barn Kids. My MIL had given me a gift certificate for my birthday this past year that I still hadn't used so I was able to use it toward that. So excited! Here is what they will look like...

Great weekend!

This past weekend was great, busy and exciting!
Saturday morning I got up and headed to Birmingham to go to a camera workshop to learn how to properly use my DSLR camera. It was a great class and although I still won't consider myself a pro, I now know more than I did before going to the class! I think the key is just to practice and play with it.

Afterwards I got to meet Mrs. Smith, along with H man" and my "due date buddy", Sarah for a little shopping in downtown Homewood. I think we all had a gift certificate to Swaddle. I was determined to use mine since I was unsure when the next time would be that I would be up that way shopping. They had so many cute things in the store, I had such a hard time deciding. But I settled on a Moby knee pad in a shape of a whale for when we are giving Miss Priss a bath, it won't kill our knees. I had never seen one before and thought it was so neat. I also got a set of Medela bottles. Mrs. Smith is going to let me use her breast pump when the time comes and these little guys just screw on when we go to work. I have no clue about this department quite yet, but Mrs. Smith assures me she will hold my hand along the way!

And of course, we had to get a little snack at Savages! Mamas needed a little afternoon pick me up!
I wish you could see our bumps better in this picture. I think we are pretty much the same size but just carrying higher than me. I think it is funny to see the different ways people "carry" their babies. Something I really haven't ever noticed until becoming pregnant.

Harrison was such a trooper all day even though he is cutting 2 teeth!
Hope Mary-Miller is as well behaved as this little guy!

And while I was in Birmingham all day, my friend Ashley, was busy being Mary-Miller's personal shopper! She is a yard sale queen and I am all about some good cheap clothing for Miss Priss. She is going to be inside so much in the beginning since it will be cold outside. Not to mention how many onies we might go through a day due to all the fun things baby do! Especially with Mimi (my mom) keeping her for the first few weeks, she is going to make sure that baby stays clean!
This is our pile as of now:

We have gowns, oneies, crib sheets, cradle sheets, socks, burp clothes, hooded towels, wash cloths, receiving blankets.... all which basically look brand new! All this was about $25. I know she will outgrow things so fast the first few months so I love the idea of stocking up on things that will just be used while we are at home.

The nursery is coming right along and so far I love it! Can't wait to do the full post on it!
